CALL FOR PAPERS Transnational and interdisciplinary workshop
„GENDER AT THE BORDER II“ for PhD students from Vienna University, and Central European University, Budapest, in the field of Gender Studies 3rd to 6th May 2007 Purbach am Neusiedler See at the Hungarian/Austrian border
The academic workshop “Gender at the Border II” is a research cooperation and networking project between the Centre for Advanced Gender Studies University of Vienna, Austria ( www.univie.ac.at/gender-kolleg ), and the Department of Gender Studies, Central European University, Budapest, Hungary ( http://www.gend.ceu.hu/ ). The meeting is scheduled for 3rd to 6th May in “Purbach am Neusiedlersee,” situated at the Hungarian/Austrian border. The workshop is financed by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture. This workshop brings together 6 faculty members (three from Central European University, Budapest, and three from Vienna University) and 14 PhD students (7/7) with a research focus in Gender Studies. The junior scholars will present and discuss their ongoing research projects involving a Gender Studies perspective and will relate them to current issues in the field of Gender Studies. Junior scholars (PhD students) with an interest in actively contributing (with a written research paper distributed in advance, an oral presentation and one pre-prepared comment on another paper) are invited to apply for a participation in the workshop “Gender at the Border II.” The application deadline is January 15th, 2007.
