[email protected] BOYCOTT THIS EVENT - IT IS A CORRUPT 'PAY TO VOTE' RIGGED EVENT!
From: Sent: To: Subject:
It is my understanding from sources in Tallahassee that this event was set up to benefit the Crist and McCollum campaigns in an effort to embarrass Marco Rubio and Paula Dockery. As you know, Crist has lost every REC Straw Ballot this year. In order to "win" a "straw ballot" Lew Oliver (on board with Crist and McCollum) agreed to do this pay to play "$10 per vote" so that Crist can show a "win."
BOYCOTT THIS EVENT - IT IS A CORRUPT GREER/OLIVER 'PAY TO VOTE' RIGGED EVENT! IT SHOULD BE OPEN TO ALL ATTENDEES WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY $10 PER VOTE! Additionally, we still don't have an independent forensic audit of expenditures for the Orange County Party - 55% went into Lew Oliver and J. Swift's pockets - we need an audit! [email protected]] 11/01/2009 5:02 PM Orange GOP PLEASE ATTEND NOV 12 HOBNOB "FUNRAISER"!
PLEASE ATTEND NOV 12 HOBNOB "FUNRAISER"! FUN WAY TO MEET CANDIDATES! SUPPORT THE PARTY! PLEASE DISREGARD DISRUPTIVE COMMENTS Dear OCREC members: I want to once again encourage you to attend our OCREC fall "Hobnob" from 6:30-9 PM on Thursday, November 12, 2009. This is a "funraiser/fundraiser" to help fill our coffers until our winter Lincoln Day dinner. This is not a required OCREC meeting and is there is no charge to attend. To raise funds, we will be having a bake sale, silent auction, selling business sponsorships and having some fun games, however the primary fundraising tool is selling tables to campaigns in exchange for participation in a straw poll and the opportunity for candidates to speak. Each purchaser of table will get a batch of tickets to give to supporters to vote in the straw poll. Additional straw poll tickets will be sold for$10 to anyone who wishes to vote, on a one ticket per person basis (a single person cannot buy 100 tickets and cast 100 votes). This is how ALL hobnobs work. It is no great secret that hobnob organizers are trying raise as much money as possible by trying to get campaigns to buy as many tickets as possible to boost their respective straw poll results. The idea is proibably as old as the pyramids, and is uniformly true of virtually every hobnob by every chamber of commerce and other organization in the country. This is hardly new with OCREC. Despite this rather straighforward and typical hobnob event format, many of you will have received an email urging you to boycott this event on the fanciful grounds that it is some sort of "plot" by RPOF chair Jim Greer or others to "stack the deck" on behalf of Charlie Crist. As ususal with claims form this source, the charge is ridiculous. In the first place, as already noted, this event works exactly the same way as every other hobnob. No special accomodations or rules have been set for any candidate or candidates, not for Charlie Crist and not for anyone else. Also, the event was organized by an OCREC planning committee consisting of at least as many Rubio supporters as Crist supporters. Secondly, not only did Jim Greer not have anything to do with the event, but I do not even know he knows it exists. I have not discussed it with him, and we have neither contacted nor informed Mr. Greer of the event. It is an OCREC event, not an RPOF event; I do not seek permission from the RPOF to do anything unless our party rules require it. Third, the Crist campiagn (not Greer) was notified of the event AFTER it was already organized and at the same time as, or shortly after, all the other campaigns. For all we know, the Crsit campaign may think the event is unfairly stacked against IT - they have not given us any feedback of any kind so far (nor did we solicit any). In short, nothing in the rules, preparation, or organizing of this event in any way favors, or was created for, any candidate. 1
Please disregard the disruptive ongoing comments. They come from someone has who has a 20-year vested interest in disruption for the sake publicity, and is exercising a personal vendetta unrelated to the business of OCREC. I have done my best to focus on the fall campaigns. This type of activity adds nothing to the battle to defeat Democrats. See you Nov 12! Lew Oliver Chairman

[email protected] BOYCOTT THE PAY FOR VOTE OCREC HOBNOB
In response to Mr. Oliver's recent email, there were (as usual) typical Oliver misrepresentations and untruths. Mr. Oliver says that this "annual" event is like other straw polls. NOT TRUE. No other REC straw poll in Florida has requested a "pay for vote" scheme. Mr. Oliver claims this is an "annual event." NOT TRUE. Ocrec has never had a "pay for vote" annual "straw ballot." Mr. Oliver claims that I have a twenty-year vendetta against him. NOT TRUE. I have a 29 year effort toward more accountability and responsibility in party spending. Mr. Oliver claims there was no collusion with any statewide campaign. NOT TRUE. Mr. Oliver has already openly endorsed Charlie Crist for the US Senate. Bottom line - no one should either attend nor provide as much as cookie to this event! Mr. Oliver is still under several investigations regarding missing receipts and conversion of OCREC Funds. We still don't have an independent forensic audit of all OCREC expenditures. We still don't have receipts to back up the nearly $100,000 of funds that were collected and spent WITHOUT full Committee approval. We still don't have any accountability or responsibility in spending party funds. What we have is party hack who has done everything in his power to prevent the infusion of traditional Republican Party values and beliefs into our local party. With our anticipated legal victory over control of OCREC, Mr. Oliver's days are numbered. Anyone who attends and donates to OCREC does so knowing full well there is NO accountability for those contributions or expenditures. From a rigged election to a nearly bankrupt local party - it's clearly time for a change! It's time for a Doug Hoffman moment here in Orange County... the day is coming. www.RepublicanPartyPurge.com Doug Guetzloe
