Sample Interview Questions: All interview questions must be approved by the employer prior to filming. If you want to add questions to this list, you must discuss those with the employer when you contact them. If you think of questions while filming, write them down and then ask the employer for approval. Explain your career? How did you get started in this business or career field? What training did you have before entering the career field and what training have you gained since working in this career field? What opportunities are there for career expansion? What other jobs have you held and how do they relate to your current career? What qualities do you look for in employees? Questions for the employee: Explain your career? How did you get involved in this career field? What is the best quality about your job? What does a typical day look like on the job? What benefits are there to you for working in this career field? What hours of work does your job entail? If you job entails abnormal hours, not 9 am – 5 pm, what are the pros and cons of working different hours? How do you see your high school education being applied in the workforce? What advice would you provide for someone who is looking into this career field? Write‐Up: Using the information that you gathered on your first assignment about your assigned industry, create a brief one paragraph write‐up about your assigned industries within Franklin County. Create one write‐up per industry. You will need to also create a brief write‐ up about the companies that you filmed. This write‐up should include important information about the company, what they do, information on why they chose Franklin County to locate their business, and any additional facts about the business. Reference the write‐up below as a sample. SKF, a global supplier of products, solutions, and services in the rolling bearings and seals business, selected the Charleston area for its Aero Bearings Service Center in 2000. Because of its success in the region, the company decided to expand its operations in 2006 by choosing Charleston for the site of its Specialty Bearings Manufacturing Operations of MRC Bearings. Headquartered in Goteborg, Sweden, SKF is the world leader in aero bearings with about 38 percent market share. The company employs approximately 44,000 people with a sales turnover of about $8 billion a year. "We selected Charleston based on the availability of skilled labor, proximity to our other industrial units and the Air Force base, good airports and connections, competitive incentive packages, and of course the cost of the location. We also wanted the possibility to further expand. "Everyone loves the Charleston area. It's not difficult for us to bring in service people from all over the world. We can see the opportunity for Charleston and for this facility to play a more global role in the development of this new process. "I have yet to meet one person that is not positive toward Charleston, South Carolina." *** Taken from the Charleston, SC MSA Economic Development & Business Location Assistance.
