They demonstrate the use of glycols and glycol ethers as co-solvents to Emultron formulas. Dowanol TPM is also a good co-solvent and it is not a VOC. Ethanol or isopropanol may be substituted for all or part of the co-solvent to give the fragrance more quick dispersion. The general method for developing a formulation for potpourri spray is to select the amount of fragrance oil that is to be used. Add an equal amount of Cola®Mulse Emultron PM and co-solvent. Pour this mixture into the water with constant agitation. If a clear emulsion does not form, add small amounts of co-solvent to see if it can be made to become clear. Should this not work, start over with the same amount of fragrance and increase the Cola®Mulse Emultron PM by 1%. The co-solvent may need to be increased as well.
