Nightwish - Via Funchal - Brazil S„o Paulo - 2008, November, 7th-8th

Highlights: Brazilian leg of the tour had 10 gigs; South American Leg of the tour had 12 gigs; 6.500 people went to the gigs in São Paulo; Most extensive tour performed in Brazil by a foreign band.

This album is dedicated to Nightwish band members and crew. Without you, without your faith to continue playing with all your heart, we wouldn't be able to experience the power, the happiness and the astonishing songs you had played. Definitely Brazil had 3 weeks that will remain in the memory of those who lived those days, as the best ones of our lives. Now a feeling of absence is in our heart, this feeling is best described with the Portuguese word "saudade". The expectation in waiting for the gigs, the comments, and the anxiety for the most expected moment are now memories of the greatest days we had. The intention of this photo book is to transmit you the feeling of being in a Nightwish gig as a fan. You sure have this feeling as a band, but I'd like to show you the other side; the point of view of a fan. What we see, feel, expect, what we are always longing for, what drives us in that crazy crowd yelling, singing, jumping, going wild in every single music you play. Hopefully you can have at least a small dimension of the strong emotions you are able to wake up in each of us, and if you can have just a sparkle of these feelings while seeing this album, my mission is accomplished. The pictures aren't in best quality, and for sure you have thousands of pictures of concerts. I'm not a professional either; I'm just an amateur that felt the need of sharing the emotions with you guys. Definitely it was made with all heart, affection and the hope to see you back soon. All pictures in this book were taken by me, except: page 22; picture used in the cover; Jukka's in pages 2, 7, 12, 17; and page 9 up/right that were gently granted by Eric de Haas. I have to thank especially to Eric that is an amazing person, and Karolina - proud member of the official board that helped me a lot with ideas and valuable opinions, including the name for my album.
