FRIENDS OF HAILEY PARK Who are you? We are a group of park users and local residents dedicated to improving Hailey Park, Llandaff North. We formed in May 2007. What do you do? We work with the council, police, schools and local representatives to improve all aspects of the park e.g. safety, education and to provide better facilities. See the list of some of our achievements and plans below. It is an excellent way of meeting local people and bringing the community together. Why do you need our support? We need a park with good facilities that users want. A strong membership is vital, so users views are represented. A large membership is useful when attracting grant monies. What can I do? You can do as little or as much as you like. Become a member; have your say influencing decisions at meetings; take part in events; or even sit on the committee. It’s up to you! What will my money be spent on? We have annual running costs of about £200 for insurance, website hosting, newsletter production etc. Spare funds will be spent on the park. Some of our achievements 2007/8:obtained grant money for new noticeboard, weekly litter picks, painting out graffiti on changing rooms, seats refurbished, new seats on meadow, refurbished the bowling pavilion and started regular matches again, carried out path maintenance and shrub clearance and MUCH MORE. Some aims for 2009: work towards Green Flag/Pennant awards, attract more grant monies, carry out vital maintenance e.g. painting; hold events, talks and walks (see website and notices in the park); consulting with users and residents AND MUCH MORE! Please P.T.O. to join
