To: Dan Marcus and Dieter Snell From: Marco A. Cordero In an effort to identify and locate Yajaira Ruiz, who purportedly married lyad Khreiwesh in an Islamic wedding which was conducted by Al-Thumairy, Marco A. Cordero contacted Nita Wasko at the Employment Development Department Tax Branch on May 12, 2004 in Sacramento, California to obtain information regarding Ruiz's employment history (specifically 2000) and her current employer. Cordero is attempting to locate her so that Commission staffers can interview her regarding her relationship with Al-Thumairy, Benomrane, and to learn more regarding Al-Hazmi's relationship with Khreiwesh. (Khreiwesh was Nawaf Al-Hazmi's immediate supervisor in San Diego. Ruiz also worked with/for Khreiwesh and Benomrane was identified as a witness to Khreiwesh's and Ruiz' Islamic wedding). Cordero contacted Khreiwesh on May 7, 2004 to ask about his relationship with Benomrane and Al-Thumairy. Khreiwesh denied knowing either one and denied ever being married to Ruiz. He "swore to God" that he did not know what Cordero was talking about. Khreiwesh advised he had moved to Arkansas and had left his past in San Diego, suggesting he no longer has a relationship with Ruiz. If that is the case, Cordero believes the Commission may be able to learn more about Khreiwesh's relationship with Al-Thumairy, Benomrane and Al Hazmi through Ruiz. To identify Ruiz, Cordero requested some record checks which identified an individual by the same name who is residing in San Diego. To confirm the individual (Ruiz) identified through the record checks was the same individual working for Khreiwesh, Cordero contacted Nita Wasko to ascertain whether the SSN associated to Ruiz was reporting wages from the Texaco located at 4925 Spring Street, La Mesa, California. (Kreiwesh, Ruiz and Al-Hazmi were all employed there). Cordero faxed this request in the morning of May 12, 2004 as suggested by Wasko. Subsequent to the faxed request, Wasko contacted Dieter Snell and requested a friendly subpoena. Attached to this document is the subpoena.
