Team Building II

Purpose To provide necessary knowledge and experiences for the participants to help them participate effectively in a team building effort. Aim The aim of the programme is to enable the participants to play their roles in a team efficiently and effectively and to enhance team work. In particular, the programme will enable trainees to:         

able to express openly and confront issues honestly and squarely; create supportive climate by building trust among team members; encourage high morale through cooperation and management of conflict; develop sound working procedures in decision making process; lead the team in both flexible and appropriate leadership or management styles; improve team performance through regular review; possess personal skills and knowledge and enhance their capability in team development; establish sound and effective inter-group relations to build bridges to link the team with other parts of the organization; facilitate better and effective communication;

Target Group Target groups for this training programme on “Team Building Level II” are particular staff members of INGO/NGOs attended the “Team Building Level I” held from 20 to 21 September 2006 at CBI Office, Yangon and NGO staff those who are appropriate to this level. The training is designed for the field project staff, middle level office staff NGOs who required to work in team or team situation. Duration The complete programme consists of 12 learning sessions. Session times vary from 1:00 to 2:00 hours. The total programme will take 21 hours or approximately 3 full working days. Training Approach and Methods The programme is based on the assumption that: “Training is expensive” “Money for training is scarce” Therefore it looks upon training as an investment, and unless the training yields results, the return on the money invested in it will be nil. On their return home from the training programme, the participants should therefore be able to prove improvement in management. In order to prepare and equip the participants to achieve this, the programme will use highly active learning approach through the use of participatory learning techniques. Participants (working mostly in groups) will learn through simulated problem solving exercises and guidance from the facilitators, who will act more as a “facilitator” of learning than a lecturer. Structure The programme is divided into 12 sessions as shown below: 1. Introduction "Participant’s presentation of Team Building first phase.
