This is the flag of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It was adopted on August 14, 1947.
The Pakistan
Flag was designed by Syed Amir-uddin Kedwaii and was based on the original flag of the Muslim League. The dark green field of the flag represents the Muslim majority in Pakistan and the vertical white stripe on the left represents other religious minorities. The white crescent moon symbolizes progress and the white five pointed star symbolizes light and knowledge.
The flag is flown on important days of
