Dr. Emerson Williams (who joined Asbury’s Sunday School as a boy many years ago when his father was appointed pastor) came up with the idea for these biennial reunions more than 30 years ago. This year’s celebration is our way of saying “Thank You” to him for this vision and the many other ways that he demonstrates his commitment to Asbury. As in the previous reunions, we will begin our September 13th celebration by worshiping together at Asbury’s 10:30 a.m. service. The planning committee is definitely inter-generational and committed to providing a great time for ALL AGES. After the worship service, a full meal, time for socializing, some fun, and group photos are being planned for those who register for the luncheon. We want to encourage full participation this year by seniors, singles, families, children, youth and couples; but we know that the recession is having an impact on all of us. Consequently, this year’s registration fee has been reduced and families will pay no registration fee for children under 10 years of age. (See the accompanying registration form.) As in previous years, from the funds raised, we anticipate making a contribution to Asbury’s Capital Campaign for church renovations and to the Sunday School/ Youth Group. Please register and join us! Encourage your family and friends to register too. Let us know if you have pictures and memoirs that can be shared during the luncheon. Be sure to get the enclosed registration form in by the August 9th deadline. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to call. Yours in Christ,

DeAnna Banks Beane (202) 362-1920 Reunion Planning Committee
