Hello everybody! How are you? I’m very nervous. •
I’m Sara Oliveras Pujol, I’m seventeen years old. I’m studying first of batxillerat for the second time. I live in Castelló d’empúries, with my parents and my brother Joan, who’s eight years old.

In this presentation I will speak about my town, Castelló d’empúries. Because I really like it.
•
Castelló has a population of about six million. It is situated between Rosas and Figueres in the Alt Empordà. The main industry is tourism but before it was an agricultural village.

In Castelló there are a lot of interesting things, for example the Basilica. It is a gothic building was built in XIV and XV century. Inside there is a christening fountain, and alter. Also there is a Prison; it is a gothic building with was built in 1336. And now in the curia there is the tourist office. Also there is a Farinera, since 1997 is a museum. Before it was a mill, which worked with the wreck. And old bridge is a bridge of seven arches and the size of the arch depends if harvest year was good or bad it was big or small. This bridge has got seven arches because it was built during seven years. And finally the Rentador, here is where the people of the village, went to wash the clothes because it was the public rentador. It was recently restored.

In Castelló d’empúries there is the festival of terra de trobadors. Since 1991 this festival is celebrated in Castelló. This festival revives the village’s history. Festival of terra de trobadors is a festival when people in Castelló take part. In this festival there are musicians, professional actors, music shows, dances, theatre in the street and a medieval dinner, guided tours, conferences and more things. In this festival the neighbours prepare activities and things. - Have you ever been to this festival? - And did you like it?

I will talk a little about Empuriabrava. In Empuriabrava there is marine port which is biggest the world. It was built in 1967. It had five hundred moorings. In Empuriabrava there are exhibitions of parachutes. - Have you ever parachuted? - Would you like to? At Easter there is the boat fair.
