MYP Film Studies Elective Criterion C Name _______________________________________ Cri ter ion C : Reflection and Evaluation (Maximum 8) Students are expected to reflect on the themes and issues encountered during the project, and to evaluate creative development and processes. This criterion includes: using a developmental weblog throughout the creative cycle reflecting upon, evaluating, assessing and appraising work to support creative development using feedback and discussion on artwork to support creative development examining the IB Learner Profile LOA

The student’s use of feedback and reflections upon themes and processes is minimal. The student completes a rudimentary evaluation of his/her level of skill.

The student finds it difficult to take feedback into account when working.

The student provides an evaluation of his/her development as well as evaluating the themes and issues.

The student reflects on themes and issues and takes feedback into account when working.

  

The student gives a considered response to feedback.

Some aspects of the evaluation may be unrealistic or incomplete.

The student provides an evaluation of his/her development and the process of working. The evaluation includes an appraisal of the quality of produced work and an identification of areas of improvement.

The student provides a thorough reflection and evaluation of his/her development and of the process of working. This evaluation includes an accurate analysis of the quality of produced work and details of improvements which could be made.

Questions that you could ask: Reflection What knowledge is being reviewed? What new knowledge has been introduced? What film studies skills are being reviewed and practiced? What new skills have been introduced? How can I further develop the skills I am learning? Did I solve any problems today? How? What didn’t I understand or find difficult today? What can I do about this? What feedback (if any) did I receive today? Evaluation How can I improve my knowledge? How can I improve my skills? What will I do in response to feedback (if any) given? How successful was I in achieving my goals today and why? How could I / my group make use of time more effectively?
