Figurative Language The structure of Dante’s Inferno is terza rima poetic pattern that has the scheme of aba, bcb, cdc, etc. The number 3 also plays a big part in the Inferno. There are 33 cantos, a 3 line structure, and there are 3 beasts he comes across. Also, the book is based on the Christian religion which includes the Trinity which is composed of three people; God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
