From the Shepherd’s Shop‹ Shop‹ by Pastor Keith Felton
I have seen God at work in a great way this past week. On Valentine’s Day, around twenty First Baptist folks showed up at Oscar Romo’s (our newest member) home to paint, repair, provide furniture, home necessities, and much more. Not many times have I witnessed a greater display of love for a family in need. A couple of days before this occurred, one of our members had her housekeeper come and clean the house. Several folks have donated items for the Romo family. One of our members drove 150 miles one way just to pick up a twin bed for one of the Romo children!! What an amazing church! One of the Romo children came up to me after the service on Sunday and gave me a drawing. On the back it said, “Love you, Thank you for helping us with the house.” Thanks to all of you who reaffirmed in me just how cool it is to be your Pastor. I hope all of you will come and purchase a Spaghetti dinner this Saturday evening at the Youth and Family Life Center. In doing this, you will help raise the needed funds for our Nicaragua Mission Trip this summer. Please continue to pray for all of those who will be participating in this wonderful experience. I know God has great things in store for this trip.
