The newsletter of the Indianapolis Alpha Gamma Delta Alumnae Club

What’s Inside... A message from Club Officers Connect with us online! Upcoming Events Have you moved?

Fall 2007

Dear Indianapolis Alpha Gams, Happy Holidays! It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is here already. Every year seems to go by even more quickly than the last! Before we know it, it’ll be 2008. The 2007-2008 year promises to be an exciting one for the Indianapolis Alumnae Club. We have committed ourselves to making this the most successful year yet for the club. Our foremost goal is getting more sisters involved. We’ve analyzed past events, talked about what our sisters in the area would enjoy participating in, and have compiled a calendar that should have something to interest almost everybody. Did you know that there are more than 1,200 Alpha Gamma Deltas in the Indianapolis area? This is an amazing opportunity for us to connect. Your Alpha Gam experience doesn’t end at college—together we can make new friends, help the community, and above all, have fun! If you have an idea of an activity or want to share input on how we can get more sisters involved, please don’t hesitate to contact us. You can e-mail any individual officer (contact information is below) or the club e-mail address at [email protected] Check out this newsletter for information on upcoming events and alumnae club news. We hope to see you soon!

Connect with us online! The Indianapolis Alumnae Club wants to be your friend...in person AND online! We’ve created a MySpace page for the club and are also developing a Yahoo! Group dedicated to the Indianapolis Alumnae Club. Utilizing these established services will greatly help us in communicating with each other and staying up to date on club happenings. The MySpace page is located at www.myspace. com/indyalphagam. We’ll use this page to network with sisters, post blogs and bulletins about upcoming events and share photos of members at club activities. Information and announcements that don’t necessitate a full club-wide e-mail will also be shared at this page.

This is also a great way for sisters to connect with each other outside of structured alumnae club activities. Wondering what other Alpha Gams are up to over the weekend? Have some great news to share? Want to invite sisters to an event? Use the comments section of the page to post any of these items, or use it just to say hello! Once the Yahoo! Group is developed, we’ll send out an invite for members to join. This will be yet another avenue that we can use to connect and share information.

Introducing... Mid-week meet-ups One new activity that we’re excited to share with alumnae club members is the “Mid-Week MeetUp.” These gatherings, which will be held monthly on a day (you guessed it!) mid-way through the week will be a casual, fun ways for Alpha Gams to kick back, enjoy drinks and appetizers, and get to know one another. We’ve scheduled these events for rotating weekdays—Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays—to allow everyone a chance to attend one, since many of us have standing obligations on certain days of the week. We’ll be meeting up at restaurants around the city, so you’ll not only have fun with your sisters, but you might try out a new restaurant too!

Convention 2008 Alpha Gamma Delta’s 45th International Convention will be held June 19 to 22, 2008 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas. Don’t forget to mark your calendars...This is sure to be an incredible event! Registration packets can be requested on the Fraternity website (www.alphagammadelta.org) and will become available in early 2008. Check the website and the Quarterly for updates.

There is no time commitment for these events— come whenever and for however long you can. The full schedule can be found on page 3 of this newsletter. Check the club MySpace page (www. myspace.com/indyalphagam) for updates prior to each Mid-Week Meet-Up. Hope to see you there!
