Exposition - The exposition starts with the prologue and the first fight setting the stage and the mood of the rivaling families. The prologue states that these two families have been feuding for a long time and that two lovers will die because of it. The fight shows the extent of the feud. Climax - The climax is the inacting of the father’s plan. Juliet pretends to be dead, and Romeo does not know it and commits suicide. Denouement - Escalus tells everyone that the deaths are the result of their feuds and everyone feels guilty Dramatic structure can be said to follow this pattern: 1) Exposition (introducing characters, plot basics) 2) Rising action (setting up the main conflict) 3) Climax (turning point) 4) Falling action (developments leading into catastrophe) 5) Dénouement (tying up loose ends) According to this logic, the climax occurs in ActIII Scene i as this is when Tybalt is killed, reulting in Romeo's banishment. The banishment leads to deceit which results in the young lovers' deaths. This scene is also known as the catalyst in that it moves the plot of the play on and changes the outcome. Hope this helps.
