Essential Questions

1)How did European Exploration impact European development ? 2)What factors including the contributions of Prince Henry the Navigator influenced European nations to begin overseas exploration?

Who was Henry the Navigator ?

He was Prince of the Kingdom of Portugal and an important figure in earlier ages of the Portuguese Empire ,being responsible for the beginning of the European worldwide explorations .He found new lands and natural sources for his country.

Answer to Essential Question #1

He brought back wealth and natural resources for his country .

Answer to Essential Question #2

He started trading with other countries outside of the EU.The other countries realized that Prince Henry was exploring more than trading,so they wanted to know more about it.Prince Henry told them about it.They started exploring too.

European Colonization He traded natural resources(spices) and gold with other countries .First English&Dutch colonist came with a religious freedom . Some were Catholic . France and Spain came looking for religious freedom.They went to the New World with Europeans to make that possible. They wanted to sell their European goods to the people in the New World.
