EUREKA! CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING & ANALYTICAL THINKING SKILLS 20th & 21st OCTOBER 2008 Training Program – Designed for anyone at any level who wants to unleash his or her creativity and that of others to help generate fresh ideas, solve problems and make better decision. Program Introduction This workshop is designed to provide executives and managers a theoretical foundation and practical application for understanding how to embrace the power of knowing themselves and thus applying it to solving problems in a creative way. The skills can be used to guide their companies as well as themselves in a positive forward motion. Through the introduction the MBTI personality understanding and 6 key creativity tools, participants will learn the skills vital to becoming effective and efficient in to today's changing corporate environment. Program Objectives Upon completion of the workshop, participants should be able to: Inculcate the knowledge of their own thinking modalities and how these play a role in decision-making Help participants analyze the thinking modalities of those involved in the problem and how these modalities could have a causal or supporting effect in the problem Increase their awareness of creative problem solving steps and problem-solving tools Distinguish root causes from symptoms to identify the right solutions for the right problem Improve their problem-solving and decision making skills through identifying their own problem solving style Improve their ability to participate in and communicate about a collaborative Problemsolving process Methodology
The workshop will not only be instructional but also requires the involvement and interaction from the participants, as experiential leaning would be the main method used throughout the workshop.

Workshop Structure SESSION 1: How Your Brain Works: The Basis of Problem Solving Participants will be given a briefing and fun exercises to better understand the workings of the brain and how we think the way we think. The left brain and right brain concept will be explored. The participants will also be lead to link the understanding of the brain to understanding its relation to problem solving SESSION 2: Understanding Personality - Key to Problem Solving: How Do You Get Your Energy: The Introvert and Extravert Modality
The participant will first understand what preference is and how both our introverted and extroverted personality is prevalent in all of us. Understand that introverted and extroverted customer react differently to different situations. Better understand how to handle each type of personality by first understanding and balancing our own personality thus solving problems using better understanding of people of these modalities. SESSION 3: Understanding Personality - Key to Problem Solve: How Do You Take In Information: The Sensing and Intuitive Modality Understand how people take in information and learn to work with people with these kinds of personalities. Participant will be able to see others as how they see themselves and to understand why some people take action and some don’t. The better be prepared to ensure that when giving instructions and handling problems, the information provided meets different people’s ability to understand and absorb the message and act upon them.
SESSION 4: Understanding Personality - Key To Problem Solving: How Do You Make Decisions: The Thinking and Feeling Modality Participants cultivate the fundamentals to interpret how people make decisions and how you can impact their decisions. To understand why some people solve problems based logically decisions and some based on pure feelings. To make the correct appeal to the person’s logical or emotional self. SESSION 5: Understanding Personality - Key To Problem Solving:
How Do You Orientate Your Life: The Judging and Perceiving Modality Participants cultivate the fundamentals on how people orientate their lifestyle and work towards you and use careful consideration or impulse to solve problems To better understand our how people work and manage their life, in proper structure or on a ad hoc basis To understand why people procrastinates and do things last minute. SESSION 6 - 11. Creative Thinking Tools Experience and discover 6 different tools to better solve problems and generate ideas Tools would include: Brainstorming, Forced New Connections – Random Word. Breaking the Rules. 6Thinking Hats, Mind Mapping and Directed Creativity. Participants will experience firsthand how to utilize these tools and to use them on actual problem solving scenarios of the company.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM LEADER
Fabian Fidelis is the CEO and Principal Trainer of ProActive Training and Author of the Worldwide Distributed book entitled The Tao of Talking: The Speakers Tenets Towards Charisma. He is a Certified Trainer with PSMB has over 13 years experience as a senior manager in the Hospitality Industry specializing in Management, Customers Service, Marketing, Management and Creative Thinking and Problems Solving. He has been a Hospitality Management Lecturer with Sunway University College from 1998 to 2005 and has made an impact on
thousands of students since the start of his academic career. Fabian has been appointed to be an Assessor for the Doctors and Medical Officers in the area of Teambuilding for the Ministry of Health and regularly runs programmes for them. He also was appointed as Managing Change Trainer to conduct Change Management programmes for the executives and managers of Maybank Fortis currently undergoing merger process. He also lectures to Hotel General Managers and Senior Hospitality Managers taking their MBA with the Tourism Institute of Australia. Prior to being an academician, Fabian held the position of Assistant General Manager at a Royal Family owned hotel in Brunei Darussalam. During his 7-year tenure at the hotel as a pioneer senior manager, he was responsible for the setting up of the Rooms Division and Hotel and Marketing operations and the establishment of standard procedures for the hotel. He was also the service trainer for a host of international staff. His notable work in
rendering exceptional service has gain acclaimed from members of the Royal Family, Ministers and Foreign Dignitaries and Ambassadors. Fabian holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Ecole Superieure de Gestion, Paris (Paris Graduate School of Management) a renowned business school in France. He is also a Certified Practitioner of Neuro-Semantics from the International Society of Neuro-Semantics, USA (ISNS) and Certified Practitioner of NLP by the National Federation of Neurolinguistic Programming, USA (NFNLP) Fabian was the Vice President of Education and later the President of the Sunway Toastmasters Club. He has earned the Competent Toastmasters Award (CTM), the Advanced Toastmasters Bronze award, (ATM-B) and the Advance Toastmasters Silver award (ATM-S) as well as the Competent Leader (CL) award conferred by Toastmasters International, the leading organization in effective communication. He is a proficient speaker and has won numerous speech competitions.
