A farmer and hobbyist artist who has done much work for children. Her work has a life and vibrancy that people who commune with nature all the time would immediately love and identify with.

Ethel Brehm

Here is a picture of my mother Ethel Brehm. She is holding one of the many saws that she painted for people. She began painting in her 70's after the death of her husband. She had no art classes or formal training in art. She was raised on a farm and her painting reflected the rural life that she had always enjoyed. The richness of youth need not end with the passing of a few years; years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm, wrinkles the soul. She was a prize winning cook and baker and has many ribbons. Some of her winning recipes are in my cookbooks.
