Weight has always been in the thoughts of many people. In the start of the tenth grade, I was 5'11" and only about 130 pounds. I wanted to make a change about it. I decided to join the football team midway through my sophomore year. Many questioned my decision to switch from playing basketball to football. Some said that I was too skinny for the sport, that I would get "broken in half". I wanted to prove all of them wrong and I wanted to be successful. That year, through weight lifting and eating my body had started to change. Sometimes I did not want to lift, other times I would want to have a soda or a treat that I could not have. But I had to stick with it, because I knew in the end it would pay off. I always had my goal in mind. Which was to get to a certain weight that I could be proud of. One year later, after weight lifting, dieting, and determination, I had gained upwards of 35-40 pounds. Only through my hard work was this attainable. A hard working mentality is important because it shows that you want to be successful and that you want to achieve goals and do anything to get there. Successful people knew in order to achieve their huge goals, they must do anything necessary to get there. This can also be beneficial to any sort of organization. A very hard worker that is willing to do anything to be successful will bring that organization along with it. Their work ethic may also rub off on other students, workers, etc. Hard work is key to any successful group or organization. I was able to change something that I wanted to change.
