EXPLANATION/USE

STRUCTURE

The simple present is used to talk about things that usually happen. Unlike Spanish, the simple present is not used to talk about something that is happening at the moment we speak. We usually use the simple present with adverbs of time.

Letter Paragraph 1 hi mom I’m writing you to tell you how my life is going on in Miami, it’s been a couple weeks since we move, I’m very happy and excited with gorgeous landscapes, beautiful beaches, vibrant night clubs and restaurants and street vendors near the beach. At day life in miami is very peaceful and quiet. There is all sort of shopping places to go. You know I have always liked the antiques, there are many of those in the street’s vendors. Like you can see in the picture there is a women buying a lot of antiques and seeing and checking the clothes and all kind of fashionable stuff. I can’t believe you can find books, clothes, bags, boxes and much more.

I live near to the beach, we buy an astonishing house, it’s huge and cozy. Our house has 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms that are so roomy and a very large garage. The kitchen is so big, with and enormous and its connected to the dining room. I can’t believe we have a garden. And for the first time in my life my house has a chimney. I love it. Our house is very well located is near to our work, and the neighborhood it’s quiet and full of lush gardens and trees.

What I can tell you about my daily routine. Every day I wake up at 6am I brush my teeth, take a bath, dress myself, and go to work. I start at 8am. I work at Psychology consultancy near to Wallmart. At 1pm I take my lunch and continue working until 6 pm. Then I get home and make dinner, a prepare my clothes for the next day. That concludes my day.
