Notes Paul is writing to these Ephesian saints and getting ready to lay the groundwork for some essential doctrine. Paul had a close relationship with the Ephesian believers as in Acts 20 it was the elders from this church that grieved over the prophecy that he would be captured and taken to Rome. It is no wonder that some of this letter seems particularly personal and somewhat intimate language.
