Every trainee is required to recite the following article. Genetically Modified Food Thanks to the biological technology known as "cloning", we have enjoyed cheaper and more exotic genetically modified (GM) food, which has aroused vehement discussions worldwide. In spite of the controversy, I believe its advantages far outweigh its disadvantages. First of all, experiments on GM food bring us better foodstuffs in terms of both quality and quantity. For instace, disease-resistant rice with high yields can help eradicate food shortages that have plagued many poverty-stricken regions. With GM technology, fish can be without bones and bread taste of meat. The likelihood is only limited by man's imagination. Secondly, GM research may assist us in achieving a perfect ecosystem by creating species to bridge the gap in the biological chain due to the irresponsible abuse of natural resources by human activities. Organisms might be developed to decompose and digest the garbage produced by mankind, thus making this world greener and cleaner. Finally, the demand for healthier food helps GM technology develop by leaps and bounds. With the ever-increasing healthy recipes, genetic engineering is making nutrition and low price go hand in hand, much to the benefit of us all. In conclusion, our food culture is greatly enriched by the bound to be overcome in the nearest future.
