In “Letter from Birmingham Jail” Dr.King purpose was to address the concerns of the clergymen and convince them that he should be in the Birmingham protesting sacration. In a Genetics of justice by Julia Alvarez her purpose is to persuade her audience to speak up against injustice Yousafzai purpose was to see all children receive a education. In all texts King, Malala and Alvarez use ethos,pathos and logos in the texts. Malala does the best job of advancing their purpose. Malala was good at explaining why kids need education. Yousafzai purpose was to see all children receive a education. In the text it shows ethos because on page 2 it says, "they thought that the bullets would silence us" They shot them so they would stop talking about women's rights because they were getting tired but that didn't stop them from talking. It also shows logos on page 2. It says "I am here to speak for the right of education for every child" She says she going to help kids have a education because we all need a education. Malala was really successful in explaining why kids and women need equality. Kids don't have a education and women are treated really bad. The purpose for Dr.King letter was to address the concerns of the Clergymen and convince them that he should be in Birmingham protesting. One example is "An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" King explains that he should be in the birmingham because the injustice could spread". Another example is "Fellow clergymen" Dr.king wants to a connection between him and the clergymen. This advance his purpose because it helps to get his audience of his side. It helps his argument because it explains why he should be in it and gives reasons. All 3 texts were really good at showing how persuasive writing helps progress towards social justice and equality. It's because all 3 stories use the right order to explain equality. They showed their purpose to the audience so they would help them understand understand and connect with them.
