LYT Engage (weekly drama sessions for 13-18 years)

@ The Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh. Engage is a programme of high energy sessions for young people aged 13-18 years, which make ideal taster sessions for a range of theatre skills and for the Lyceum Youth Theatre itself. A chance to develop your skills, work with LYT tutors and other theatre professionals, focusing on different aspects of drama in each 5 week block.

Block 1: 13, 20, 27 Jan and 3, 10 Feb 2010

Scripts and Scenes Work with scripts, then develop and perform your own through adaptation, improvisation and your creative ideas. Explore writing, directing and performing and then share your work with family and friends in the last session.

Block 2: 24 Feb and 3, 10, 17 and 24 March

Musical Theatre If you think musical theatre is all jazz hands and sequins then come along and discover a whole different side to it. Work on character, creating atmosphere, performing scenes and telling the story using a range of acting techniques, movement, music and song. Ideal for those who have never tried musical theatre before as well as die-hard musical fans.

The sessions run on Wednesdays, 5-6.30pm, and can be booked at the Box Office on 0131 248 48 48 at £35 for 5 weeks
