Energy conservation in China
Investigate what the public thinks about energy and energy conservation in China. Create a work for an exhibition that will make visible these points of view. You will focus on two opposing groups: Young (people in their 20s) vs. Senior (retired, over 60) Urban vs. Rural populations Middle income vs. Lower income classes. The groups you will be investigating will be determined in class. The project can take any form you choose, but keep in mind that the work should be something that can be exhibited in a museum, gallery or other exhibition space.
Learning Outcomes:
Understand the issues involved in preparing a design concept for delivery across a broad spectrum of graphic media. Apply a higher level of independence in resolving a design problem. Finding solutions to creative problems utilizing appropriate visual approaches Manage a graphic design project using a systematic process. Resolve technical and structural constraints in relation to design process. Demonstrate a high level of competence in preparing digital artwork and pre-press specification Expand upon creative and production skills applicable to a variety of graphic and communication media. Implement typographic and image generating strategise appropriate to solving a visual communication problem.
Work Required:
Students must submit: 1. Sketchbook documenting concept development; 2. Project presentation book 3. Final Design Outcome

Assessment Strategy:
Documentation of brainstorming and ideas generation. (20%) Design processes involved in solving visual communication problems. (20%) Research files. (30%) Stages of visual development through sketchbook/screenshots. (10%) Final design outcome, which reflects a high standard of finish and functionality.(20%)
Project Weighting within the Module:
This project is worth 16% (sixteen percent) of the total Investigation and Practice 1 module mark.
