This Emergency Rescue Plan provides an overview of the rescue plan for the Road to Area A and Port. Royal commission “Road to Area A and Port” is the exact location of working site is as mentioned in the drawing The area is obstructed and has limited access for vehicles and all equipment due to the new road construction Rescue Procedure
To protect workers from any accident or incident when they are unable to rescue themselves or shows inability to move from the area. This may be due to a physical accident (i.e. a broken leg, breathing), a medical emergency, rescue teams shall be ready
Practice, The training of rescue personnel emphasizes the need for regular exercises that simulate actual rescue conditions. On site toolbox meeting should conducted every days as per task, and documented in the STARRT card that Number of employees working in the site and their activities. The following points are helpful in General, when you are conducting a rescue operation All the procedures and practices to any confined space rescue are applicable to the Excavation for Abutment o Those areas which are not intended for continual work o Have a limited means access o Have the potential for physical hazard o Contains a material that has the potential o Has an internal configuration that might cause any labor to be trapped or asphyxiated by inwardly converging walls or by a floor that slopes downward and tapers to a smaller cross section, and/or o Contains any other recognized serious safety or health hazards There for the requirements for a Managed Excavation for Abutment, rescue plan is needed for the prompt rescue in case of any emergency situation arises. Rescue in an emergency must be a pre-planned event. Current best-practices call for a thoughtful approach to retrieving a worker as soon as possible without endangering the lives of those who must conduct the rescue operation. The rescue plan is the overall approach to protect and retrieval. The rescue plan is a strategy which establishes:
the duties and responsibilities of the rescue team, principles of safe practice, general guidelines on the means and methods to be employed in rescue operations, and training guidelines and measures of competency for rescue personnel
3.Selecting the Right Equipment for the Job o A wide range of safety equipment is available for rescue. o Select the type of equipment depend on the circumstances.. o Here again, we rely on the evaluation and planning performed by a competent person. (CGC & RC) o as part of the rescue plan to guide us in the selection of equipment suitable for specific Applications. o There is no one-size-fits-all solution in rescue equipment. o The equipment must be matched to the rescue plan and will be completely inappropriate for another application. 4. Rescue Equipment Standards The National Fire Protection Association provides guidelines to manufacturers of fiber ropes, harnesses and accessory equipment. This standard applies primarily to the professional fire services, but is also applicable to the needs of constructional rescue personnel. Equipment certified to NFPA 1983 (2006 edition) meets a very stringent set of strength and performance requirements suitable for the demands of emergency rescue can also be referred..

5. Training and Competency
Sufficient training is required for a successful implementation of any rescue operation. Narrowly defined education or instruction is not sufficient to ensure a positive outcome in an emergency. Rescue personnel must be trained, and they also demonstrate their working knowledge through a practical, hands-on demonstration of skill.

Training plus assessment equals competency. Competency in an emergency is the ultimate measure of a successful rescue training program. How to use written rescue procedures Gas testing frequently or with certain intervals • Training as a team is an essential part of achieving competency for the team members.
Assessment of rescue personnel is required to be performed by supervisors or independent contractors or consultants who possess at least the qualifications of a Competent Rescue Trainer.
Assessment must be performed on a regular basis to ensure continued proficiency of each rescue team member. In addition to the above an attached On-Site Rescue Plan and these Procedures are part of the written plan for the confined space and are based on the assessment of hazards in this space. Prior to entry and/or work in the Excavation for Abutment 1. The Site supervisor will ensure that the attached “on-site rescue plan” for the working area has been completed and that all the rescue equipment identified in the plan is available to effect a rescue in the Excavation for Abutment 2. The Site supervisor will ensure that an adequate number of appropriately trained persons (as documented in the attached “on-site rescue plan”) are available for immediate implementation of these on-site rescue procedures that apply to the works as mentioned here 3. The site supervisor will review all emergency procedures, including procedures relating to emergencies outside Excavation for Abutment with all workers and other related personnel. 4. The Supervisor establishes communication with all workers, using the means described in the attached “on-site rescue plan”.

The site supervisor will ensure that the activity prior to notify the CGC fire and rescue team and once the Excavation for Abutment is closed out for the shift. Provide the manual retrieval system like ropes, wings and other means of equipments in case failure of crane. Note: The ultimate aim of this procedure is a timely and systematic rescue operation without endangering the victim and the rescue people in an emergency ON-SITE RESCUE PLAN.
