Elected Officials And Candidates Transparency Pledge

Colorado Transparency Pledge I,________________________________, believe that Colorado taxpayers deserve a more transparent and accountable government, with free and easy access to information about how the government spends taxpayer dollars. Transparency refers to information that already is a matter off public record and subject to the Colorado Open Records Act. Transparency legislation has served as a successful reform in numerous, cities, counties, school districts and states across the nation, as well as on the federal level. Therefore, I will join the effort to bring transparency to the State of Colorado and pledge to the taxpayers that I will: l Support efforts to implement full transparency at all levels of government; l Support efforts to implement complete financial transparency in government, requiring posting on an easy-access, searchable, user-friendly and free website. This website would include all financial transactions including expenditures and revenues, contracts and grants, and would provide the details of payments, their purpose, and who authorized the payment; l Engage in full disclosure of all my spending decisions and make revenue and expenditure data as open, transparent, and publicly accessible as possible.
