ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2007-2008 Ladies and Gentlemen: I feel pleasure to place before the Donors, Institutions and the public at large the Annual Report of Activities of the Trust for the financial year 2007-2008. We
are
very
thankful
to
our
community,
volunteers
and
management who are always involved in the grassroots level in the Rural and Urban Areas of Vishakapatnam and West Godavari Districts. Our Trust is undertaking various development and awareness programs
related
with
HIV/AIDS
Awareness,
Students
Welfare,
Library, Drug Awareness Program , Consumer Awareness Program and Awareness Program for SC & ST’S in the Rural and Urban areas of Vishakapatnam and West Godavari Districts. The volunteers of or Trust visit the remote villages and exteriors to aware the people on their rights and duties and to engage the people in different training Programs. We work without any discrimination of Caste, religion, creed, colour and Gender.
EVENTS AND ACHIVEMENTS DURING 2007-2008 1. HIV/AIDS AWARENESS PROGRAM: Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Charitable Trust
conducted HIV/AIDS Awareness
program on 10 t h June 2007 at Polavaram ( Mdl ), West Godavari ( Dt),
regarding most dreaded disease HIV/AIDS, Oriented youths on
the issues of HIV/AIDS for development of conceptual clarity and creation of positive attitude among the community to realize HIV/AIDS as an health hazard adversely affecting the indicators of human development (income poverty and earnings capabilities) and a backdrop against individual liberties and rights. The youths were motivated to mobilize support of their communities for an enlarged community initiative for prevention and alleviation of the AIDS problem and their Gentlemen of the locality and the animators have attended and addressed the meetings.
2. STUDENTS WELFARE: Our Project Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Free Education for Under Privileged children to educate them at Tadimalla (Vill), Nidadavolu (Mandal), West Godavari – Dt Center has sheltered 15 newly in the year the academic year 2007-2008.Now the total strength of the school is 35 .The students who were studied in the academic year 2006-2007 were promoted to the next class based upon their learning ability. The students are provided with facilities like English Medium Text Books and Note Books for their studies. The new students are admitted into the center based on an admission test designed to assess their academic ability. Accordingly they are grouped .After the admission process they are divided into two groups. First group is put into bridge course –I where the children are of age 6 to 12 are accommodated .Bridge Course is nothing but condensed form of classes 1 s t and 2 n d curriculum.The Second group is Bridge Course - II, this is mainly useful for the dropouts and 3 r d , 4 t h , 5 t h class curriculum .This Bridge Courses are
taught for 6 Months and there in after they are mainstreamed accordingly to their learning ability. This project with all in house facilities like classroom, dormitory. Since inception the project has performed exceptionally well and the results are very encouraging.
3. PROJECT PUBLIC LIBRARY: Our Trust provided another fruit for West Godavari Book Lovers to
enjoy our newly established Library services at Tadi malla (Vill ) for the enhancement of knowledge and Trust provided hundreds books about various issues for the benefit of such as Students , House wives , Employees & Senior Citizens etc….

Township Community Welfare Centre. Shri.C.S.Rao, Advocate, attended and addressed the meeting.
The habits of the slum dwellers
are to make purchase in piece meal due to poverty. The business sector
took the advantage by selling duplicate and adulterated items. This practice was no harmful from economical point of view also. The sale of art dated and mutilated items were also observed. The organization the camps in monthly markets and awareness for: 9

6. AWARENESS PROGRAM FOR SC & ST’S: Our Trust has conducted a Seminar for SC & ST’S on 19 t h January 2008 at I.T.D.A, Kota RamaChandra Puram, West Godavari –Dt to aware the Dalith & Girijan people about the Constitutional Rights & Schemes which are introduced by Indian Government. The meeting was

8. MEETING & SEMINARS: Meeting and seminars are conducted for the youth to decide upon the course of action at various stages of life including career opportunities. Counseling on certain broad issues is also taken in their meetings. Many confused youth feel this is a great help to them and sometimes express the desire to attend more such sessions.
Thus our Trust has been trying to do its best to the community in general and to the economically weaker section in particular.
