Business Improvement District Safety Patrol
A key feature of the Echo Park Business Improvement District shall be the dedicated safety patrol. A team of readily identifiable officers whose presence conveys safety and who shall work closely with the police and city officials on critical quality of life issues within the district. Clean / Green Pressure washing entire area Keeping public areas clean of debris Maintenance of problem trash areas Landscaping in public areas Clean up of stairways Institute new tree program Street Furniture program
Proposed BID Budget
Initial budget estimated between $300,000 $350,000 Security
– 45% Clean – 30% Green – 25% ** City admin fees not included
Echo Park BID – “How to”
Raise Seed money necessary
$40,000 by May 15th
OR $30,000 plus $10,000 in kind (offices / supplies / work)
Need Anchor property owners support Once we have the support and $
We apply to city of Los Angeles They hire consultant Consultant does study that will help with the overall budget, and map / location of BID Then Vote: we will need 50% of the property owners who voted +1 Insurance – Our Directors and Officers Insurance can be altered to include the BID. Est. Annually at $12,000 - $15,000.
