EASY WORSHIP 101

  



menu bar opens the File, Schedule, Songs, Live, and Help menus. toolbar contains frequently used commands for easy access. schedule area contains selected items for the presentation. This schedule can be edited on the fly by dragging songs, media and scripture from the resource area. o Schedule Item Icon’s (music notes=songs, book=scripture, camera=graphic, filmstrip=video file, dvd=dvd clip, powerpoint icon=powerpoint presentation) resource area is a database where you store your songs, scriptures, and media, including video feeds and the DVD player. The Song tab displays the song database. The Scripture tab displays the Scripture database with version option tabs at the bottom. The Media tab displays the Video, Images, Feeds, and the DVD. o ADDING ITEMS TO THE SCHEDULE: Double-click on an

item to project it immediately; or drag the item from the resource area to the schedule area (powerpoint, use icon on right of schedule area)

Faith Media Ministry  preview area shows the song, scripture, video, feed, DVD clip or presentation that is highlighted in the schedule. To move the contents to the Live Output area and display it to the congregation, in the Preview area, double-click on the highlighted item or click the Go Live>>> button. o Preview each type of schedule item in the Preview Area  live output area in the right section displays what is currently being projected on the screen. Use the space bar or mouse to navigate from one verse (or slide) to the next.

Logo brings a graphic or video to the screen that you have already defined. Black Button transitions to a black screen according to the transitions you have set Clear Button clears the text from the screen, leaving the background running, using to the transition selected.

CHECK SCHEDULE FOR CHANGES

If you do not want to save any of the items from the schedule, check Do Nothing – ignore this song item. If you wish to add the song or item into your Song resource area database, check Insert – Add the song to the song database. You can choose to use only the song lyrics or backgrounds. Click OK.

Faith Media Ministry OR Click the button Apply to All Insert Songs to add all the songs in the schedule to the song database. The backgrounds which were created on another computer and used with these songs, if they are not on your computer, will now be added. This is the new Pack Videos and Images in a Schedule feature. You can also click the Compare button to display songs with the same name, to determine which song you would like to save.

EDITING SONGS In the schedule view, right click on the song you want to edit Select “Edit Song In Schedule” This Song Editor will open up, use it like you would power point.

CHANGING SONG BACKGROUND  

Go to the Resource Area, click the media tab, choose the video or images tab To add an image or video right click among the other images and select add image, navigate through windows explorer until you find the image/video you’re looking for

Faith Media Ministry  Click and drag the video or image you want into the schedule area and hold it over the song whose background you want to change (the song will be highlighted)

Graphic Design Standards: Use Sans Serif fonts: Tahoma, Trebuchet, Century Gothic (unless you’re trying to create a certain mood)  Use 9-11 Easy Worship point font – 38-48 in regular font point terms  Slow songs, slow motion background, fast songs, faster motion background  Dark background, light text, light background, dark text  Use the outline and shadow feature to help the text jump off the background (Learn more: Design Matters, by Len Wilson and Jason Moore, Abingdon Press 2006) 

EDITING DVD CLIPS—  Go to: the Resource Area, click the Media Tab, Click DVD and then click add.  Play the DVD (navigate to scene or scroll with the blue dot)  Find the position you want and mark in/out points, then click ok.

Advancing slides: o Spoken Text: advance on last line of slide o Songs: advance 2 or 3 words before the slide is over (it depends) Navigating to next slide in Live Area: forward: down arrow, backward: up arrow

HELP! I’m clicking on the right graphic but another one comes up in the Live Area!?! o In the schedule area, click once on any song item to send it to the preview monitor o Then click once on the graphic you want to put up on the screen (it will go into the preview area) o Click Go Live>>> o Problem solved…hopefully
