Earth is a planet which revolves around the sun. It complete its one revolution in one year. It spins around its axis also. It complete its one rotation in one day.(24 hours) Its shape is round. It is unique planet which has life because of presence of water, oxygen and suitable temp. etc. • Its 75% part is covered with water. • • • •

Solid phase of earth consists three layers. 1. Curst:- Outer most layer of earth is called curst. It is made up of Silica and Aluminum. Its thickness varies from place to place. Under continents its thickness range from 35-60 Km. While under oceans it is only 10 Km. we get Petroleum Products, Copper, Aluminum etc. from it.

Mantle:-

Region between crust and core of earth is called mantle. It is made up of silicates of Iron and Magnesium. Due to high Pressure, rocks in mantle are solid .It also contains some rocks in liquid form called ‘Magma’.

Core :- Inner most part of earth is called core. Its radius is about 3400Km and it is extremely hot. It is made up of Iron and some nickel. In inner core, Iron is in solid form because of high pressure. But in outer core, it is in molten form because of low pressure.
