DESCRIPTION OF EARTH • The earth is our unique planet . • The earth is the third planet from the sun. • It is also the fifth largest planet after Jupiter. • The earth completes one revolution around the sun in 365 days and six hours.
FEATURES OF EARTH The earth has many features that distinguish it from other planets and make it a unique planet. ♦ The earth is the only planet of the solar system- so far known-to support life. ♦ Earth is also called a blue planet because of presence of the water in oceans. ♦ The earth is at the optimum distance from the sun. ♦ It is neither too hot nor too cold. The shape of the earth is like a sphere.
