A New Online Course on Gender and Humanitarian Action
Different Needs Equal Opportunities IASC announces an E-Learning course that will allow you to: Learn how to effectively integrate gender equality into your humanitarian programmes Practice your skills through an interactive, online, simulated humanitarian crisis Earn a certificate in gender mainstreaming in humanitarian settings As a humanitarian worker, you often have little time to build your professional skills and strengthen your knowledge in humanitarian programming. This online course will allow you to learn how to develop effective programming during a time that is convenient for you.
Imagine the fictitious country of Hatuk. Hatuk has recently had rains and storms that just last week culminated in massive flooding that killed and displaced thousands of people within the country. An estimated 360,000 citizens of Hatuk have been affected, prompting the Government of Hatuk to declare a national emergency. What would you do?
This three hour, self-paced course will provide information and scenarios which will enable you to practice developing a more effective humanitarian response. By the end of this course, you will know the basic steps that a humanitarian worker must take to ensure gender equality in programming.
