Narrative Report Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction is one of the applied subjects for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) of the senior high school. This second semester, the grade 11 STEM students under the supervision of Mr. Junrey R. Belando organized and conducted a DRRR symposium as their culminating activity for the second semester of school year 2018-2019. The culminating activity was held last March 12, 2019 at Room 206, 2nd Flr., DCNHS-SHS Building. All students were involved in the crafting of the program. Guests from Dumaguete City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office arrived and conducted a lecture-demonstration on fire safety. The activity was also in the observance of the National Fire Prevention Month, which is observed every March. Mr. Alden A. Rabina, the OIC-principal of Dumaguete City National High School formally welcomed the participants.
Rationale The activity was conducted according to the following objectives: a. provide opportunity for students to apply what they learned from the subject and b. help students to analyze the importance of communication, socialization, and teamwork. c. develop among the learners the importance of getting to know the fire safety measures.
