In keeping with the mission “Media that Matters,” media matters was founded by NenaTenacity in 1997,Since then she has developed and produced a wide range of material to affirm “ Media that matters”. “Let our voices be heard” – . “Let our voices be heard” is a series of contemporary South African short films which will focus on the abuse of women, both emotional and physical.
This project has been endorsed by POWA (People Opposed to Women’s Abuse), and by the MEC of Social Services and Population Development.
The main aim of the project is to facilitate development in the industry for women filmmakers by providing women with the opportunity to develop their stories reflecting individual experiences that have a broader universal impact on societal

DIRECTOR
Kurt’s career in the film and television industry started in 2000. He attended the Mercury Film and Television school based in Cape Town where he specialised in camera, directing and producing.
He produced and directed his first student documentary, “Street Life” in 2000 for the Molweni Township Film Festival. “Street Life” looked at the underground hip-hop scene on the Cape Flats. He did his internship at the SABC and E-tv news department. In 2001 he was involved in the music video of Jonathan Butler as a trainee director where he worked closely with director Akin Omotoso (director of God is African).
In the same year he received his first shot at producing and directing inserts for E-tv “In the Zone” and “Diski Nine Nine.”
He went to Johannesburg in 2002 to look for a job. His motive was to look for work in the TV industry. He met Carolyn Carew, Executive Producer of Love life Television Productions. She gave him a chance to prove his skills behind the scenes on SABC 2 Love life Games 2 and S’camto Ground Breakers 2 as a trainee director.
He has been working with hip-hop group Parliament and they have begun shooting a music video. He has also been commissioned by Democracy Radio to produce a radio documentary focusing on the history of the group. In 2004 he completed an award winning documentary title Definition of Freedom looking and the role hip hop music played during the political struggle. The documentary was awarded Best Documentary at the Atlanta Hip-Hop film festival, and was also screened in 2005 at Sithengi World cinema festival in Cape Town, and in 2005 at the Vancouver Film Festival in Canada.
Kurt completed his studies in film and television at Monash University in 2004 and worked as a insert Producer/Director for SABC Kids News Room from 2005-2007. Kurt currently works as an independent producer/director for his own production company, Zion Trod Productions, focusing on
