Report to the Archives Room in the West Quadrangle to register for the ceremony, receive Summary of Proceedings, collect your 2 guest tickets, plus any additional tickets which may have been allocated, and then collect gown and hood

9.15am

TURNBULL HALL, SOUTHPARK TERRACE Roman Catholic Service

9.45am

UNIVERSITY CHAPEL Service of Dedication

10am

Graduands to assemble for the ceremony (normally at Randolph, Senate, Turnbull and Melville Rooms) as stated in the Summary of Proceedings which you will receive when you register.

10.30am

Guests admitted to Bute Hall.

11am

GRADUATION CEREMONY commences

circa 12.20pm QUADRANGLES – drinks served. 12.45pm

Group photograph at Commemoration Gate, with Dean and Honorary Graduate (gate along from the Main Gate, on University Avenue).

1pm

Buffet lunch – Glasgow University Union.

2.30pm

Following lunch, graduates and guests should make their way back to the Bute Hall.

2.45pm

Graduates must return to Bute Hall by 2.45pm for registration for RCVS Admissions Ceremony.

3pm

RCVS ADMISSIONS CEREMONY commences The Dean welcomes Graduates, family and guests, introduces the platform party and delivers his address. The President of the RCVS administers the Oath to the Graduates and admits them to Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. The Graduates all stand during administration of the ‘Oath’. Thereafter, the Registrar reads the names of those admitted in alphabetical order, noting any Prizes received. The President of the RCVS delivers his address the new Graduates.

circa 4pm

The Dean concludes the ceremony and invites all those present to join him in the KELVIN GALLERY for refreshments.
