2nd Semester Paper 1: Domestic Violence

Domestic violence in America today is a very big issue, one that can and should be avoided. Domestic violence is a problem in many households in the U.S. Not only does domestic violence hurt the person who is getting abused, it can affect those who witness the acts. Many people don’t know how to escape a relationship involving domestic violence. I will explain three common situations of domestic violence and the best ways to avoid them. If somebody is in a argument and the argument becomes “heated” to avoid violence it is best to walk away. If you are a victim of domestic violence for the first time your best option is looking into couple therapy or to play it completely safe walk away from the situation. Lastly, if you are in a situation of repeated abuse the best thing to do is to leave that situation.
