SCENE 1: PRINCETON UNIVERSITY (1994) THOMAS: Professor Nash? JOHN: Who are you? And what can I do for you? THOMAS: (Introducing himself) professor my name is Thomas King. JOHN: Thomas King…? THOMAS: yes! I am here to tell you that you are being considered for the noble prize. JOHN: Forgive me but I am little stunned. THOMAS: Over the past years your equilibrium has become a cornerstone.
JOHN: What about my other works on project such as manifold
embedding.
THOMAS: The application of your bargaining problem to fcc bandwidth auctions or to antitrust cases. THOMAS: Shall we have some tea?
JOHN: I don’t go there. I usually take my sandwich in the library. I like some northern Indian tea others are not suitable for me. (sitting and talking about the noble prize)
STUDENT: Professor Nash? (john looks up. A young faculty member is staring at him. He reaches into his pocket. lays something down in front of him. It’s his pen.) TEACHER1: See prof.Nash is coming to this cafeteria after a long time!. TEACHER2: I am inspired by his works. He is one of the genious professor. TEACHER3: He is nominated for the noble prize. TEACHER2: Oh really! TEACHER1: So let us honour him. (another teacher from behind too lays his pen down before Nash. And now everyone in the room rising coming to him, laying their pens down, one after another in a growing tribute to a lifetime of accomplishment.)
