Dirty room? In the sacrosanct institution where I'm staying and studying, we are placed into different rooms that can occupy two to four persons. The rooms are quite fine and they offer ample space for us to have beds, cabinets and study tables. They are also very cozy and orderly--until occupied. We are four in the room where I'm staying and if I remember it right, our room had been only spic and span during our arrival prior to school days. So in short, our room is always messy. Often times you could see soiled clothes lying everywhere, shoes all over the floor, food wrappers scattered on the study tables, beds aren't fixed and sometimes the smell that the soiled clothes exude become the fragrance of our room. I noticed also that the other rooms share the same sentiments with our room. But the thing is, it's as if it doens't matter. i'm afraid we're getting used to it. However, I sometimes wonder why is it that our rooms seem to contrive by having an ambience of unkempt life? How come, though unconsciously, the rooms return to their abnormal state of unkemptness no matter how we try our best to clean them? Was it because of an outside entity (an alien maybe) trying to wreak havoc in our rooms just for fun? I was always preoccupied by these questions until I came up with a theory. (Aside: This theory is only an attempt to answer the question "why is it that an all boys room seem to defy the equilibrium of a good room by just being unkempt? End aside.) My theory is that, the reason why our rooms are always unkempt is because we are actually sympathetic that we try to be in solidarity with the chaos that is currently happening in the world. We try to be one with the outside world by, though unconsciously, projecting its present situation in our rooms. However, our constant effort of trying our best to make our rooms neat and tidy is a manifestation that people still try their might to live righteously in this world. We may be faced with predicaments chaotic in nature, we still overcome them or if not, we undercome them by our perseverance and determination to make the best and happiest out of whichever laid in front of us.

One may think that this is only an excuse to justify the mess found in our rooms that is caused by our laziness. But on second thought, it's still true that there is a chaos happening in the world right now, and that it's so overwhelming that it can create a semblance in our rooms. Hah! As for our room, we just deal with it everyday and still trying and trying to make it as pleasing as we can. No matter how that alien concurs in the wreckage of our room's orderliness, we just hold on our faith that someday (given the fact that we do everything we can to put order in our room) everything will be fine for, "the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."
