DIRECTIONS TO ICN-CIN2 From the Airport to Plaça Catalunya: BUS: Exit the terminal and wait for the Aerobus at the bus stop on the same side of the road. There is one every 5-15 minutes depending on the time of the day. Tickets can be bought on board or at vending machines. A one-way ticket is about 4 €. Get off at the very last stop: Plaça Catalunya. The ride takes about 30 min. From the bus stop, cross the square along the diagonal to reach the Rambla and the entrance to the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC). See below for further instructions.

From Plaça Catalunya to UAB Campus and ICN: Plaça Catalunya is Barcelona’s city center, the place you are most likely to cross if you take public transportation to go anywhere. At the square corner close to the Rambla and Café Zurich, take the stairs and follow the FGC sign. FGC is like a metro, but not the same as the real Metro (M sign). Buy a 2 zones ticket and board any train to either Sabadell (S2 line) or Universitat Autonoma (S55 line). Get off at Universitat Autonoma (25 min. ride).

Take the exit at the very end of the track and follow the straight path up the hill. Once on top you will face a number of large, red brick buildings. Take to the right, heading along a large pedestrian area parallel to the road. Walk heading down until you see a roundabout on your left (see map). Take to the right towards the Facultat de Ciences Entrada Norte, then left to ICN. The provisory ICN building is easy to recognize but hard to see. It’s a small, mouse-grey prefabricate cube that will inspire generation over generation of future architects. If you get lost, ask directions for, alternatively, the Facultat de Ciences Entrada Norte, ICMAB, or the Estación de Bomberos (firebrigades headquarters). As ICN is kind of a new entity and the main building is under construction, nobody on campus would know where the institute is located. If nothing else works, call 93 581 4870 or 4408. From the FGC train station it’s a 10 min. walk. A map of the campus is given below together with the FGC plan.

TAXI direct to ICN: ask for Universitat Autonoma; show a map of the campus to the taxi driver so that he/she will know where to go after the motorway exit to the campus. If you start from the airport, ask to go via la autopista A siete (A7). It takes about 30 min. with normal traffic conditions and the cost is around 40 Euros.
