E-Sword must be downloaded and installed before one can load files from the site. All files which are downloaded and are zipped files must be unzipped and extracted to or copy and pasted to the e-Sword folder under the program files folder on the hard drive. E-Sword reads all the files from the e-Sword folder. Topic files read from e-sword folder under programs if the version is 7.7 or less. Versions newer than 7.7 begin to read topic files from mydocuments\esword. C:\Documents and Settings\owner\mydocuments\e-Sword One can determine where the topic files are read from by opening file under the open tab under the file tab. Option tab at the top one can determine where other resources are read by clicking the resource tab under option. The resource box will than show and at the bottom tells one the location that esword is reading from. All commentary files which are written for a given book chapter and verse are keyed to a given Bible which is opened to a given chapter and verse. One must have the book chapter and verse keyed in order to view any commentary for given verse. Most of the files on esnips have been zipped using winzip, so winzip and a few other zip programs will unzip the files. They must be extracted to the e-sword folder under program files folder.if loaded into in the e-sword folder they should be available in abbreviated format within the esword program. unzipped files will have for bible extensions bbl *.bbl commentary will have extention cmt *.cmt dictionaries will have extentions dct *.dct and topical files will have extention top *.top
