DIGC101 New Media Communication (October 22, 2009) Final Web Project Assessment and Submission Guideline The final submission of the Web Projects are due Week 13, by Wednesday 9.30am. Email me (
[email protected] or
[email protected]) with your project submission, include at least one paragraph description and any relevant links - don't forget your project and class blog links. Assessment The web projects are assessed by a range of criteria that includes the degree to which you have engaged with the various subject modules, practices, themes, and exercises. The assessment will consider the responses to the theory and practices as demonstrated in your blogs and the technical and design choices of your sites. The assessment will take into account your ability to plan, develop and produce content for your sites, and you should include links to all the visual, audio and other media created during the semester. Criteria Cohesion (25%): how clearly is your identity discussed, detailed, planned and organised (this is largely assessed through your blog posts). Practice (25%): the degree to which you are employing the methodology discussed in the lab/seminar, course materials and the effectiveness of the iteration of your web project. Engagement (25%): to what degree do you consider and reflect on the course lectures and background materials in your blog reflection and implement your interpretation through the project - (identity, communication, effects of the digital, social networks, online video, folksonomy etc).
Integration (25%): how well are you connected to various dispersed materials and web services and the degree to which your various elements interconnect. Presentation The Presentation of the Projects in Week 13 are informal (not assessed) and will occupy our lab time and should not go beyond 90 seconds - these should address your initial plans and how often you updated and contributed to the project and how. How did you implement your plan, what were the successes, problems or issues and did you connect to audiences (what kinds), and how you might expand. Try to reflect on what you have learnt from the process in terms of managing and constructing online identity. Email me (and tweet) any relevant links that you want to display during your presentation by Monday @ 4.30pm.
