DIESEL KNOCK Bahan Bakar yang terakumulasi selama periode igniton delay dibakar pada satu saat selama flame propagation period. Kemudian tekanan didalam combustion chamber meningkat tajam dalam proporsi ke jumlah bahan bakar yang diinjeksi selama igniton delay. Pressure wave ini menyebabkan mesin bergetar dan membuat suara bising. Hal ini disebut diesel knock. Mesin diesel menggunakan selfignition combutin system, sehingga samapi ukuran tertentu, diesel knock dapat dihindari. Penyebab diesel knock :  Engine temperature rendah  Intake air temperature rendah  Fuel ignition temperature tinggi (angka cetane rendah)  Injection timing awal.  Injection condition tidak baik Untuk mencegah disel knock: Pendekkan ignition delay sehingga dapat menghindari peningkatan tekanan tiba-tiba. Gunakan metode berikut:  Menggunakan bahan bakar dengan angka cetane tinggi  Meningkatkan compression pressure dan intake air temperature hingga mulai fuel injection

 Meningkatkan suhu combustion chamber  Menjaga coolant temperature yang sesuai  Menjaga fuel injection timing yang sesuai, injection pressure dan spraying condition.
