OMISIÓN DE SONIDOS SOUNDS OMISSION Se omite la -g final de adjetivos acabados en –ig o en –lig. También la –g final de algunas palabras así como la –d y la –t finales de palabra. En ciertas ocasiones se omite la –d o la –g aunque no estén al final de palabra. La –k final de algunos adjetivos se omite cuando va seguida de –t. Asimismo, la –e final de palabra si es átona suele omitirse cuando va detrás de una –r- o una –l-.

Is omitted final –g of adjectives finished in –ig or –lig as well as final –g, d and –t of some words. Sometimes –d and –g are omitted although they aren’t at the end of the word. In some adjectives, the final –k is omitted when is followed by –t. Final –e in a non stressed syllable is omitted when is followed by -r or –l.

CONVERSIÓN DE SONORAS EN SORDAS VOICED IN VOICELESS CONVERSION Los finales en consonante sonora: -d, -g, -v de algunos monosílabos cuando van seguidas de –s se convierten en sus respectivos sordos: /t/ /k/ /f/ Antes de una –t final de palabra, la –g y la –gg se convierten en /k/ y la –b y –bb se convierten en /p/ ante –s o -t finales.

Sometimes, in a monosyllable finished in -d, -g, -v plus final –s, voiced consonants are turned into their respective voiceless pairs /t/ /k/ /f/ Before a final –t, -g and –gg are turned into /k/ and before final –s or –t, b and –bb are turned into /p/

ASIMILACIÓN ASSIMILATION Cuando una palabra acaba en –r y la siguiente comienza por –s, ambos se asimilan y se convierten en un sonido “sj”. Cuando una palabra acaba en –r y la siguiente comienza por: d-, t-, n-, lla “r” desaparece y se asimila al sonido siguiente convirtiéndolo en retroflejo. Si la palabra acaba en –n y la siguiente comienza por b- la “n” se convierte en “m”.

When a word ends in –r and the next begins with –s, the two sounds are pronounced together with a “sj” sound. When a word ends in –r and the next begins with d-, t-, n-, l- the letter “r” disappears but turns the next letter into a retroflex one. A final –n is pronounced “m” when the next word begins with b-
