DGA SUMMER POLICY CONFERENCE – SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY Participant Briefing Memo To:

OVERVIEW The DGA Summer Policy Conference in Saratoga Springs, NY is scheduled for July 31st – August 1st and is hosted by Governor David A. Paterson. The conference will commence on Friday with an opening reception at the Saratoga National Golf Club. Saturday begins with a breakfast for Chairman’s Board members and conference sponsors. Following breakfast, a policy discussion and panel discussion on revitalizing the economy will take place. The official conference program will conclude after lunch, although many attendees will be heading over the Saratoga Racetrack for the afternoon. Attire for all DGA events throughout the conference is business casual. The Saratoga Racetrack recommends that gentlemen wear suits or sports coats with slacks and shirts (ties are not required but are optional). Women are asked to wear dresses, skirts or slack outfits.

TRANSPORTATION Transportation from the conference hotels to the off-site event on Friday evening will be provided for Governors and members. Shuttle service is available from the Gideon Putnam Resort to the Saratoga Racetrack and back all day on Saturday. For those members staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, transportation to the Gideon Putnam will be available on Saturday at 7:45 a.m. (for the Chairman’s Board & Conference Sponsor Breakfast) and at 8:30 a.m. (for the general breakfast and policy discussions) from the Hilton Garden Inn lobby. There will also be transportation available from the Gideon Putnam to the Hilton Garden Inn at 1:30 pm for those that are not going to the racetrack for the afternoon. To arrange ground transportation to and from the airport, please visit http://www.albanyairport.com. The estimated one-way cost for travel via a taxi or shuttle service is $55-80 from the Albany Airport to Saratoga Springs.
