Responsibilities/Jobs Description: Capacity Building of School & Literacy Department in Planning (Where S & L department was facilitated in Data Collection of 0-9 year's children and analysis of 4-7 years for Out of School Children) Facilitation in preparation of Village Education Plan (Maintaining & Updation of UPE Register at each male school base location) Facilitation of S & L department in chalking out Enrollment Campaign & Follow up Strategy( Ensuring 100% enrollment of all out of school children at the age group of 4-7 years) All (S & L) department managers were facilitated and trained on District Planning Work Shop (Where they were facilitated on the target vs. achievements, responsibilities, follow ups and proper reporting mechanism). Head Teachers of both male & female school were facilitated and trained on: a) Ensuring 100% enrollment, Drop out Prevention & Retention and assuring of Quality Education to all target group by means of Social Mobilization tools i-e Conducting of Broad Base Community Meetings, Identification of Volunteers, training of volunteers, Revamping of Parents-Teachers Council and Parents-Teachers Meeting and formation of Senior Students Committee at every school).

b) Assessment of children on monthly basis for maintaining of LLM record at school level. c) Reporting of Monthly Goshwara with all Universal Primary Education indicators. d) Data Collection and verification of all 4-7 years children from their homes. e) Identification and verification of Feeder School feasibility. f) Monthly Review Meeting at Pay Center level for sharing of Gaps, on spot training over subject contents and Future Planning. g) Updation of UPE Register with enrollment and left over status of children. h) Trained on five steps of social mobilization for drop out prevention & retention. i) Teachers were trained on summer camp classes, where teachers paid extra time to week student and volunteers supported them in the process. j) Teachers were made bound to involve community, through giving them more opportunity in school matters. k) Teachers were trained to mobilize local resources with the Support of community influential volunteers for school needs. 1 Designing of Various activities for S & L department to achieve the objectives of UPE Projects within the district. 2 Facilitation to S & L department for holding regular Monthly Review Meeting at each level (Where they can review their progress, identified gaps and prepare strategy for future course of actions). 3 S & L Department was facilitated in preparing of weekly & monthly visit plan (Schools identified with issues and low performance in term of Enrollment, high ratio of Drop out, low Quality Education standard means LLM). 4 S & L department was facilitated on monitoring and evaluation of the project indicators during their visits to schools and LTRCs (used for training purposes). 5 S & L Department was facilitated on updation and maintaining of proper EMIS System. 6 S & L Department was facilitated on the reporting mechanism adopted for each tiers accordingly. (Various monitoring formats were design for reporting against each activity). 7 Appreciation mechanism was introduced for best performance schools and teachers (leading to Selection Committee comprised of District and Deputy District Officers S & L department and Award Committee comprised of DCO, District Nazim and EDO S & L department). 8 District Coordination Committee was formed under the chairmanship of District Coordination Officer, (Where Executive District Officers from all departments(EDO Education, EDO Health, EDO Social Welfare, EDO finance & Planning, Human Resource Development Officer and Chairman Zilli Monitoring Committee for Education) were the members to the committee, held regular monthly review under the chairmanship of DCO, and every member was to present the progress against the placed target in the previous review meeting. The main aim of the committee was to develop close liaison among different department for achieving of its specified goals and objectives. 9 District Program Manager plays a role of assistant to District Coordination Officer. He was facilitated on program regularly and instructions were issued from his office for compliment to various departments for achieving the desired objectives in timely. 10 Community Feeder Schools were launched in coordination with Education Department to cater 100% enrollment issue( In those locations where government school did not exist within the 1-1/2 Sq Km area and provided teacher in those government schools where enrollment ratio was not meeting the criteria of 1-40. 11 MOU was signed with S & L Department and District Government to achieve the desired objectives of the project. (Each party role was made clear to them for future course of action).

12 MOU was signed with Malakand Rural Development Project (funded by Asian Development Bank) and S & L department for financing salaries to community feeder teachers. 13 Coordination meetings held with S & L department, District Government and local government officials' i-e Zilli Nazim and Union Nazimeen for effective implementation of the project intervention. Activities Carried Out at HDSU Level: 1

Preparation of Detail Implementation Plan for Markaz Coordinators for future interventions of the project indicators. 2 Trained Markaz Coordinators on regular daily and weekly basis both in field and as well as in internal weekly review meeting. 3 Arrange different training events for capacity building of Markaz Coordinators. 4 Daily Diaries of MCs were checked on weekly basis for disk monitoring purpose. Gaps identified were shared in review meeting for improvement. 5 Planning was made in consultation with District General Manager for implementation of the project indicators. 6 Attend and Participate in all sector weekly review meeting headed by DGM HDSU. 7 Compiled daily, weekly and monthly reports for submission to Provincial Office and Head Office. 8 Report submission on daily and weekly basis to DGM for program review. 9 Field visits were done both with S & L department and individually. 10 Budget was prepared for Universal Primary Education activities with Consultation of DGM and District Finance Manager. Supportive activities at HDSU Level: 1 Literacy sector was supported in identification of potential areas for Adult Literacy Centers. 2 Social Mobilization was done for Adult Literacy Center i-e meeting with community and influential volunteers (Nazimeen). 3 Literacy Sector was supported in arrangement of training events for its teachers. 4 Literacy team was facilitated in coordination meetings with S & L department and District Governments. ORS team was supported in: 5 Identification & Training of District Master Trainer. 6 Facilitated in clustering for intervention. 7 Supported in mobilization activities for intervention. 8 Supported in distribution of promotion material and as well as in mothers training at village for demonstration of ORS preparation. Volunteerism for Community Development sector was facilitated in 1 Identification and training of best volunteers at each location. 2 Facilitated in framing of Philanthropist Forum at district Level. 3 Facilitated in resource mobilization in term of medicine for medical camps. 4 Facilitated in updation and compilation of volunteers' data. 5 Facilitated in arrangement & celebration of International Days.
