The Trafalgar School at Downton Year 9 – Geography Key Homework China used to be categorised as an LEDC, but in recent years has seen a lot of change. You have been asked by the UN to write a report on China’s level of development. INTRODUCTION • Select 5 indicators to help you measure the level of development in China. • Select 5 other countries to compare with China. • Explain why you selected that data. DATA PRESENTATION • Present your data in a variety of ways (e.g. table, graphs, maps, scattergram, annotated photos/sketches)

CONCLUSION – HOW DEVELOPED IS CHINA? • Analyse your data by describing and explaining what it shows. • Compare the countries and write a conclusion - is China the most or least developed? Should it be classed as an LEDC or MEDC? EVALUATE YOUR STUDY – HOW ACCURATE IS YOUR CONCLUSION? • Evaluate your study by asking yourself: - What areas of development (e.g. economic) do my indicators represent? - Did I select the most useful indicators? - Would I get the same result if I selected different indicators? - How reliable is my conclusion? - How could I improve my study? (Feel free to extend you work to do so!) How your work will be assessed:
