Delta Sig Recruitment Off to Strongest Start in a Decade Throughout the semester, there has been an ongoing report of the recruitment numbers of the Fraternity’s chapters and colonies called the Victory Report. It has been solely distributed on a weekly basis to the chapter leaders and alumni volunteers, and since this is its usual distribution day, it’s being distributed through the Delta Sigma Philes e-newsletter. The best news that we can share is that the Fraternity's overall recruitment is the strongest it has been in a decade! A very positive sign as we strive to become America's Leading Fraternity! In week 4, the Gamma Iota Chapter at the University of Idaho has entered the Victory Report in a tie for third with 30 pinned new members. In addition, the Epsilon Chapter at Penn State has joined the Top 10 for the first time in the seventh position with 23 new members pinned. The University of Kentucky’s Theta Mu Chapter continues to lead with 43 new members pinned this semester. See below for all of the results: Rank

Beta Tau Chapter Celebrates 60th Anniversary Delta Sigma Phi’s Beta Tau Chapter at Western Michigan University celebrated its 60th Anniversary with a dinner and event on Friday October 3, 2008 in Kalamazoo, MI. The event was attended by 125 brothers and guests, including Chris Northern, the Past President of the Fraternity’s Grand Council, Delta Sig Regional Director, Ry Beck, and Western Michigan’s Greek Advisor. The highlight of the event was when the chapter honored brothers Chuck Bode, Western Michigan ’48, and Doug Phillips, Western Michigan ’87 for their dedication to the chapter. Bode is a founder of the Beta Tau Chapter who went on to be a teacher and public administrator. He is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who fought at Iwo Jima in World War II. Phillps is a long-time ACB member who served as Treasurer of the ACB for a decade, and is a Kalamazoo business man. Prior to the dinner, an ACB meeting was held where new officers were elected to lead the ACB as it moves forward. Congratulations to the chapter on this great anniversary! [return to top]
Beta Chapter Dedicates House The Beta Chapter at Columbia University formally dedicated its new house in New York City last weekend. Over 100 guests, including undergraduate members, parents, family members, alumni and university administrators, attended the event which occurred during the university’s Homecoming celebration. The ceremony was officiated by ACB President Joe Bertolino, Chapter President Josh Milstein, Deputy Regional Commissioner Greg Panas, and Chapter Founding Father Scott Koonin. The house, a 5-story brownstone located near New York City’s Riverside Park, houses 16 undergraduates, and was awarded to the chapter from the university after a highly competitive process. According to Bertolino, “I am very proud of these brothers and their alumni. They are a dedicated, hardworking, committed group of men, and they exemplify all that is best about Delta Sigma Phi.” [return to top]
