CORPORATE RELATIONS

BROCHURE 2007-2008 THE INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY OF DELTA SIGMA PI, OMICRON SIGMA CHAPTER

DELTA SIGMA PI UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO

ABOUT OUR PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS FRATERNITY Purpose “Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.” About our Chapter Omicron Sigma Chapter at the University of California, San Diego was established on May 22, 2004. Our organization is comprised of collegiate students striving to cultivate applied business practice on campus through project management and financing to provide a platform for an intimate business network of the best students on campus and matching them with esteemed employers. We are a corporate recruiting advertising consulting entity specialized in the practice of coordinating and promoting professional development seminars, corporate recruitment events as well as philanthropic services at the University of California, San Diego. We model our organization similarly to corporations to foster our personal professional development. Through the funds derived from our sponsors/grantors, we will finance our chapter expenses and in the future, investment portfolio as well as our chapter endowment fund. The chapter managed investment portfolio will help finance longterm chapter operations. The endowment fund will then finance scholarships and grants to aspiring individuals as well as donate to philanthropic endeavors. Our Goals 1) First and foremost, we are interested in fostering relations between students and the professional business world, thus providing a venue for companies to recruit the best talent on campus. 2) Secondly, through our business model we intend to provide a platform for students to become educated through practical business experience in the many avenues of professional development. 3) Finally, we intend to utilize the acquired funds from our corporate sponsors to capitalize the Omicron Sigma Chapter Investment Portfolio as well as allocate corporate donations to the Omicron Sigma Endowment Fund through the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation. We hope to capitalize our funds with a combined $10,000.00 in assets by the start of fall quarter of 2008. Through the returns garnered from our performance we will provide scholarships and awards to outstanding individuals and organizations that display attributes of leadership, academic merit, professionalism and philanthropy.
